John P. Whittaker School - Atlanta, Georgia

846 Huff Road - This cool school was built in 1959.  From above the building looks like a series of joined hexagonal boxes. The building is totally concrete, including the walls, floor and ceilings with the exterior clad in brick.  Due to the style of construction there are no load bearing walls in the building.  The structure sits on a hill and is two stories tall with the lower floor exposed in the rear of the building.  The interior contains 17,688 square feet of space.  The building has been abandoned for at least ten years and is currently on the market for $1.5 million.
