1660 Highland Avenue - Remodeled to its current look in 1935 by S. Charles Lee, the Max Factor building's glamorous Regence Moderne Art Deco facade still enchants. The facade was replicated at Disney's Hollywood Studios in Florida as The Fashion Spot.

6601 Hollywood Boulevard - Circa 1925, this Spanish Colonial Revival building was designed by Gogerty and Weyl this is one of many Hollywood buildings recreated at Disney's Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World. See the replica, Mickey's of Hollywood, on my other blog.

100 East Main Street - Built in 1909 and designed by EC Hosford. Some new pictures of courthouse. Polk County is celebrating its 150th birthday so during a visit to the museum last weekend I snapped a couple of pictures inside the building.

Florida Southern College - Completed in 1948, these are my favorite buildings on the Florida Southern campus. Every step and every turn reveal new shapes and intriguing vistas. The transitions from confined to open spaces, the integration of the esplanades and the oasis of the secluded courtyard with pool and fountain offer a soothing respite from the hectic world (and the Water Dome is right next door).

Similar shot but with the Water Dome on right.
